The holiday apartments at the Refugium Rochus in Caldaro are a passion project. A project that is close to Rochus’ and Harald's hearts. Two people, united in life and work, yet different in their essence and being. One a farmer, naturally down-to-earth and meticulous, the other a teacher, communicative and creative. Two people who understand and complement one another well. As a couple and as hosts. With their Luxury Suites not far from Lake Caldaro the two of them have made their dream come true. A dream of opening up their beautiful refuge to lovely people longing for peace, quiet and relaxation.

The Refugium Rochus is an establishment with style and history. Design apartments close to the nature of Alto Adige, to the forest, to the good life. We have carefully and mindfully brought the former Waldrast from the sixties into the present day with a fine feeling for architecture and landscape. In so doing we consciously placed the emphasis on recreational value. Inside, in the exclusive interior of the individually designed holiday apartments and outside, in the sun-drenched garden with views of Caldaro’s vineyards and Alto Adige’s mountains. All in all a place where guests arrive, cast off their everyday lives and instantly feel at home.

Breakfast?

It comes in a drawer here. Literally. Here at the Refugium Rochus we have lovingly transformed discarded drawers into original breakfast boxes. And we fill them every day with delicious produce from Alto Adige and the nearby area. Completely fresh and whatever you want, since you can simply decide for yourself what you would like to find in your drawer on a morning. From day to day and just as the fancy takes you.

Well placed for connoisseurs and explorers.

In the middle of nature and yet so close. The wine-growing village of Caldaro, the Mendel hiking mountain, the old town of Bolzano and Lake Caldaro. All of this and much more is easily explored from the Refugium Rochus. Because in our adults only suites you are right on their doorstep. Close to Alto Adige’s loveliest sights. Close to cycling and hiking trails, historic villages, museums and restaurants. But also to the less well-known spots. To the favourite places that not everyone knows about, and which for that very reason are so worth visiting. We’ll be delighted to tell you about our personal favourites…
