Design Suites, each one unique.
Our refuge is the childhood home of the host, Rochus. In the past it was also a bed and breakfast hotel and was known as the Waldrast. Then too, the guests valued the peaceful location in the forest and the warm hospitality of Rochus’ parents. Nothing will change in that regard. However, we wanted to extend the substance of the building and bring it into the present day. In an impressive manner and with a new architectural and artistic concept.
The stylistically confident hand of the architect, Andreas Gruber, in combination with local design skills and artistic accents, has placed the known and proven in a new context and given form to our aspirations in terms of quality and individuality. The Refugium Rochus offers plenty of space to blossom in privacy. Outdoors, between Mediterranean plant life and the decades-old magnolia, and indoors, in the high quality interior of the suites that concentrates on the essential.
Each of the Design Suites is unique, created in collaboration with ruralurban The sum of many small details. Mindful small details that make the fine, extremely tangible difference. Natural wood, concrete, luxurious accessories. Clear, simple, intentionally minimalist. Art that inspires one to reflect. And an homage to extra special people. To the suites’ namesakes, who the artist and illustrator Mirijam Heiler has immortalised in portrait form with angular pencil strokes.
